Each year, we lose some good outdoor art in Winnipeg. For the year indicated, here's a last look at, a last goodbye to some of the artwork that has disappeared that year.

This Mural was part of a larger project aimed at reducing graffiti and tagging in the area. In 2007, The Youville Centre in St. Vital received funding from Winnipeg Partnership Agreement for economic development initiatives. After consulting with them and members of that community it was determined that the creation of artwork in the skatepark and a Mural on the Arena wall could beautify the area that had previously been subject to vandalism.

Youville worked with graffiti artists to create the artwork in the skateboard park; and Chris Velasco was brought in for the wall Mural on the Arena. At the time of this writing (February 2010), unauthorized spraypaint vandalism is significantly reduced out of respect for the artwork now there.
