Each year, we lose some good outdoor art in Winnipeg. For the year indicated, here's a last look at, a last goodbye to some of the artwork that has disappeared that year.

159 Osborne Street

This rendering by Pat Lazo in 2000 was lost in 2006 when it was painted over for a new tenant.

Original notes follow:

Steve Wilson (Graffiti Art Programming): "This is now a Korean restaurant but at the time it was an Eastern European restaurant. The owner of the restaurant gave us some of his research material and books. This is a bridge in Europe that Pat reproduced with his own twists and turns to it! It's all spray paint and it was a very quick wall to do."

At the time the Mural was commissioned, the building was a Czech restaurant known as Bohemia Bistro. The Mural scene is that of the Mala Strana (Lesser Town) side of the Charles Bridge in Prague. Patrick stylized the scene somewhat, but the gate, the statue on the right and the castle in the top right corner all fit with the real thing.
