One of three winning designs that were installed on Broadway in 2008- combining practicality with public art. This piece, by Paul Robles, is reminiscent of his use of Asian paper cut- a style of art where the artist cuts and layers coloured tissue papers into pleasing designs. The winning design is of a monkey riding a bird. He said that the bird was a contemplation of the nature of that area, and the monkey was a nod to his Asian heritage.
