Artists' Remarks : 'Cue the Beat!' is a lively Mural located on Sargent and McMicken which commemorates X-CUES Billiards & Cafe's 50th anniversary, while celebrating the culture of the community. The Mural is done in the 1960's style of pop art involving the use of geometric and abstract shapes as well as the minimalist style of simplistic, organic forms.

"This style of art connects to the time when X-CUES, originally known as Enzo's, which opened in 1969. Enzo's was a hub for Winnipeg's newcomers, where they felt welcomed and included in the community. Furthermore, images of the cafe in the Mural are used, which can be recognizable to regular customers to further the Mural's dedication to the event center (such as the interior of the lounge, specifically the stage area). In addition, the Mural includes musical instruments from Ethiopia, Philippines, Iceland, Italy, Syria, and many more that represent the diversity of people that live in the West End. Ultimately, 'Cue the Beat!' exemplifies the celebration of bright culture of the West End and X-CUES' contribution to the community."
